Zakari Ali
- Research Fellow working on Climate and Health at the MRC Unit The Gambia at LSHTM
- His research interests are in food systems sustainability in sub-Saharan Africa
- He specialises in co-creating food system solutions to climate change working with various stakeholders in food, agriculture, policymakers and local producers
- He studies how diets in low-income countries compare with healthy and sustainable dietary guides
- Registered Nutritionist with the Allied Health Professions Council of Ghana and a Registered Associate Nutritionist (ANutr) with the Association for Nutrition, UK
- Completed his PhD at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM)
- His recent works are on the Lancet Countdown collaboration where he is leading efforts to establish an African Regional Centre on Climate Change and Health
- In this role, Zakari coordinates a multidisciplinary team of African scientists and researchers who track over 40 indicators on the different ways that climate change affects health in Africa
